Here’s to the last memory we will have of the 2018 Columbus Blue Jackets.
And what a year it's been - from a ten game win streak in the spring to a blown 2-0 lead in the playoffs to free agency drama, and finally, a solid second-place sitting in the Metropolitan Division right now.
To cap off the year, the Jackets are facing off with the (rebuilding?) Ottawa Senators, who have had some drama of their own this season.

Storylines:
- The Blue Jackets just had their five-game win streak snapped on Friday night, but this just means they get to start a new one. They current sit in second place in the Metro Division, just four points behind the Washington Capitals, and one point ahead of the Pittsburgh Penguins.
- Captain Nick Foligno will be out of the lineup tonight to be present in Boston as his 5-year-old daughter Milana will undergoing a scheduled heart surgery. As a result, Lukas Sedlak jumps into the third forward line, and Anthony Duclair will move up to play with Alexander Wennberg and Josh Anderson.
- The Ottawa Senators sent star defenseman Erik Karlsson to the San Jose Sharks this summer all while subtly mentioned they were planning on rebuilding. It’s pretty rare for a team to publicly claim this (even if it’s obvious that it’s happening). We can't blame them, though - I mean, have you seen Jack Hughes, the project No. 1 overall pick? The Senators currently sit in last place in the Eastern Conference, so they're well on their way to get him.
