One night after John Tavares scored twice and Ilya Samsonov stopped all 30 shots for the Toronto Maple Leafs in a 3-0 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets at Nationwide Arena, the two teams face off again — this time from Toronto's Scotiabank Arena.
Despite the final, it was anyone's game heading into the third period. Toronto was clinging to a 1-0 lead when they scored twice in less than a minute near the midway point of the third to put the game out of reach.
Here's what to know when the Maple Leafs and Blue Jackets complete their home-and-home:

TALKING POINTS: LEAFS
-
Ilya Samsonov was fantastic between the pipes Friday night, stopping all 30 Columbus shots for his third shutout of the season. But the Maple Leafs are expected to start Joseph Woll in front of the home crowd Saturday night, per TSN's Mark Masters. The 24-year-old Woll has four starts — all last season — in his NHL career.
-
One of Tavares' two goals came on a first period power play for Toronto, and the Maple Leafs finished 1-of-4 on the man-advantage for the evening. That's right on pace with their 25.0% power play percentage for the season.
- Toronto has played six back-to-backs this season, and they do well on the second night: They're 4-1-1.
TALKING POINTS: CBJ
-
Not that it's not obvious, but Joonas Korpisalo has been the best goalie on the roster this season and it's not even close. He looked great for a majority of Friday's game and was given third star honors despite the loss.
- Marhcenko watch: still 13 goals, still no assists in his NHL career. Gaudreau watch: stuck at 49 points. With 30 games left, he's now on pace for "just" 77 points. The chance of him becoming the single-season points leader in team history is looking bleak.
