More World Championship news for Columbus Blue Jackets associated players.
Dean Kukan, who played 72 games for the Cleveland Monsters this year, has been named to Switzerland's World Championship team. This news comes courtesy of SwissHockeyNews.CH
It had been believed that Kukan would be playing in the tournament since the end of the season but this gives final confirmation on prior speculation.
This past season with the Monsters, Kukan had four goals and 25 assists for 29 points. He led all Monsters' defensemen in points this past season.
Other Blue Jackets scheduled to participate are goaltender Elvis Merzlikins (Latvia), forward William Karlsson (Sweden) and Joonas Korpisalo (Finland).
Both Vladislav Gavrikov (Russia) and Markus Hanniakainen (Finland) have made their respective countries preliminary rosters.
The IIHF World Championships begin May 5 in Paris, France and Cologne, Germany.
