It remains unclear which team Gavrikov will be signing with at this time. The team he played for this past season, Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, would like to retain his services. SKA St. Petersburg has recently shown interest in the defensemen to add more intrigue.
In 54 games last season, he scored three goals and had four assists for a total of seven points.
Through three games of the IIHF World Championship, Gavrikov has one assists and two penalty minutes. Russia has won all three games it has played in thus far.
