Josh Anderson is back in Columbus, Ohio. Now the hard work begins.
The recently signed Columbus Blue Jackets right wing spoke to media for the first time since signing his new three-year deal, and talked about what it was like not being able to lace up the skates with his teammates.
"It was extremely hard, it's not fun," said Anderson to the media (via Jackets TV). "Obviously watching it on TV seeing your teammates. It was definitely hard staying off social media when you know you got tweets happening every day."
In his time away from the team, it didn't take any time away from the rink. In fact, it may have increased it.
"I saw what these guys went through," Anderson stated plainly. "A really tough camp like that but it just made me want to get better too. I just want to compete and you know I started doing two-a-days because I couldn't really relax."
When asked about the process of the negotiation, Anderson was asked whether or not he regretted the manner in which it played out.
"I mean you know its obviously easy to say yes, I could regret it," he said. "But at the same time, it is definitely a business on each side. It's a lifestyle. I had to go through it. It was definitely hard but it is water under the bridge now and I'm ready to compete here."
