The Columbus Blue Jackets have made late in the day moves before opening night.
The team sent Markus Nutivaara to the Cleveland Monsters on assignment. Nutivaara does not have to pass through waivers to go down to the AHL. Josh Anderson was also sent down to the Monsters on loan. Anderson had to agree to the assignment to be sent down to the Blue Jackets AHL affiliate.
Anderson recently agreed to a three-year deal with the Blue Jackets after missing all of the team's training camp. He played in 78 games scoring 17 goals and pitching in with 12 assists for 29 points. All of those were scored at even-strength.
Nutivaara is coming off an injury from this past playoffs and played in 66 games during the 2016-17 regular season putting up seven points including two goals and five assists.
