The tragic bus crash involving the Humboldt Broncos rocked the hockey community.

Since the accident on April 6, now 16 people – players, coaches and staff – have lost their lives far too soon. Fundraisers have been launched across the world to support the families dealing with immeasurable loss, and now, the Columbus Blue Jackets are joining in.

Announced Thursday by the club, the Blue Jackets Foundation is holding a special 50/50 raffle and stick auction to support the Broncos. All proceeds from the raffle, which takes place during Games 1 and 2 of the first-round series against Washington, will go directly to the Broncos.

From the official release:

In the spirit of #PutYourSticksOut, each Blue Jackets player on the current roster will donate a signed stick for the online auction. Fans may text CBJAUCTION to 52182 or visit cbjauction.gesture.com to bid or make a donation. The auction opens at noon today and will close at the second intermission of the April 15 game.
