The NHL and NHLPA's "Hockey Is For Everyone" month has begun, and with it, they have named team ambassadors for all 31 clubs.
The Blue Jackets representative is Seth Jones. This all comes after the NHL had Jones present during its "Declaration of Principles" news conference during the preseason. All 31 ambassadors have pledged to be leaders in the locker room and in the community.
Here is what the league and the players' association said about the initiative:
As part of its ongoing effort to celebrate diversity and inclusion in hockey, the National Hockey League Players’ Association (NHLPA), National Hockey League (NHL) and its 31 Member Clubs announced Hockey Is For Everyone month begins today. The annual campaign focuses on awareness and activities with organizations that celebrate all people who play or watch hockey, including fans of every race, color, religion, national origin, gender identity, age, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, and those with disabilities.
