The kid's tough, isn't he?
Zach Werenski has been noticeably hampered by an injury (or injuries, perhaps) at different times this season. He hasn't been as sharp or quick, at least compared to his dynamic rookie season.
But somehow, he's managed to be an impactful player – with better numbers than his 2016-17 campaign, as Alison Lukan recently pointed out in a feature for The Athletic. With 11 goals on the year, Werenski is the Blue Jackets' third leading goal-scorer and among the NHL's best scoring defensemen.
John Tortorella confirmed Wednesday that he's been playing through injury, and likely will be for the balance of the season.
Tortorella said the undisclosed injury that Zach Werenski is playing thru probably will be an issue for the remainder of the season. #CBJ
