"Is that...back-to-back wins for the Blue Jackets?"

They've been an aggressive and shoot-first group over the last week or so, trying to give themselves as many chances to score as possible. In their last two games, the approach has paid off – they scored six goals against New Jersey on Saturday and four more last night in Brooklyn.

Three Storylines
  • Goalie Decision:  The Blue Jackets are going to ride Sergei Bobrovsky as far as he can take them, but tonight may be a start for Joonas Korpisalo. John Tortorella believes in the young goaltender and Korpisalo has paid back the coach's confidence in his last few outings. If there was a night to spell Bobrovsky with games against Philadelphia and Pittsburgh on tap this weekend, tonight's the night.
  • We're Down With PLD: Artemi Panarin is a wizard, and perhaps he's responsible for elevating the play of many teammates as the second half begins. One of them is rookie center Pierre-Luc Dubois, who's been solid all year but noticeably better of late. Since being reunited with Panarin and adding Cam Atkinson on the right wing, this has been the Blue Jackets' best line (and they're producing). Dubois scored a power play goal last night, and has goals in three straight games.
  • Be Ready:  Leafs coach Mike Babcock warned this morning that his team must be prepared for the Blue Jackets, who are shooting from all angles and trying to generate offense. On the flip side, the Blue Jackets ought to gird their loins for the Leafs, who are sizzling hot right now and winners of four in a row.
