Nick Foligno tried to play through it, but it wasn't going to happen.
In the second period of Sunday's 5-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Blue Jackets' captain was tangled up along the wall in the neutral zone with Conor Sheary. The two fell to the ice and Foligno did so awkwardly, and once he stood up, was in considerable pain.
Foligno tried to return in the third period, but after a brief test of the injury, again left the game and did not return. The Blue Jackets announced this morning that Foligno will miss 1-2 weeks of action as a result of a lower body injury.

Cam Atkinson told The Athletic's Tom Reed that he thought Sheary's skate cut through Foligno's sock. The team offered no specifics on the injury.
