The deals for next season are beginning to form.
The Blue Jackets re-signed forward Nathan Gerbe to a two-year, two-way extension earlier today. Gerbe, 30, has played 18 games this season with the Cleveland Monsters and put up 13 points.
Gerbe was signed out of Switzerland earlier this season, as the Blue Jackets brought him over for the balance of 2017-18.
In year one of his deal, Gerbe will make $650,000 if he plays in the NHL, $250,000 when he plays in the AHL but regardless, he will make $400,000 guaranteed for the season. In year two it is structured $700,000 in the NHL, $250,000 in the AHL and $400,000 guaranteed.
