Tonight was likely the biggest win of the regular season for the Columbus Blue Jackets – here's what the crew had to say afterwards.
John Tortorella
I think they’ve gained their confidence here, this was a good test tonight. It’s one of the better teams, they’re coming in with a ton of confidence. First period, both teams had their moments good and bad, but I liked the way we presented ourselves going into that second period.
Pierre-Luc Dubois
On the complete effort: The past two games, we have the results but it wasn’t the way we wanted to play – a full 60 minutes – but at this time of the year you can’t really complain when you get another win. Tonight, another good team, they’re on fire too, but we put together a good start. I think everyone here had the feeling that it was going to be a good feeling today.
On the flow of the game: Penalty kill did a really good job tonight, from Bob to the [defensemen] to the forwards, everyone played really well on the penalty kill. Saw it again in the third period, we killed that penalty and had the momentum after that. It’s really important this time of the year that the special teams work like they did tonight.
On the playoff run in his rookie year: It’s fun, I’m having a really fun time right now. Playoffs are close, hopefully we can keep winning and get in there, who knows what can happen after that?
Seth Jones
On his return to the lineup: I felt good, the team had a great win, got some timely plays when we needed them, Bob made some big saves, it’s a good one for us.
On watching from the press box while injured: We played really well, guys came in and did a heck of a job, I think everyone through our lineup played awesome, and we got goals in bunches there.
On the second period: We wanted to take over the game. It was a back-and-forth game in the first and we wanted to put our stamp on it and take control of it.
