The Columbus Blue Jackets have won their first two games of this three-game trip through western Canada, roaring back to blow out the Edmonton Oilers and then taking care of the Calgary Flames. Now, they'll wrap it up with an early start against the Vancouver Canucks at Rogers Arena.
MATCHUP:
Columbus Blue Jackets at Vancouver Canucks
Rogers Arena, 4:00 p.m.
TV: Fox Sports Ohio
WHAT TO WATCH FOR:
- The Canucks are playing out the string here, but they shouldn't be overlooked. They're a young and hungry team filled with players looking to make an impression, and coach Travis Green always has his team ready to play. They're coming off a 2-1 win over the Oilers on Thursday.
- Hobey Baker Award finalist Adam Gaudette of Northeastern turned pro this week and signed with the Canucks. He made his NHL debut Thursday vs. Edmonton and will be in the lineup this afternoon.
- Might the Blue Jackets want a bit of revenge? About six weeks back, the Canucks showed up at Nationwide Arena and handed them a thorough shellacking. It was one of the Jackets' more disappointing efforts of the season leading up to the break, and they limped into it with losses to Buffalo and Vancouver.
