The Blue Jackets have another major injury issue to deal with.
Announced Wednesday afternoon by the team, rookie forward Emil Bemstrom will miss six to eight weeks due to injuries suffered last Saturday against the Florida Panthers. Bemstrom received a nasty slash and cross-check combination from Panthers forward Brian Boyle along the right wing boards, and in real time, it didn't look good.
Bemstrom did not return to the game and has not played since.

The 20-year-old Bemstrom has three goals and six assists in what's been an up-and-down rookie season, one that included a five-game points streak from Nov. 7-19. The Blue Jackets are also currently without injured defensemen Zach Werenski and Markus Nutivaara, and the team is back in action Thursday night against the Pittsburgh Penguins at PPG Paints Arena.
