A pair of Blue Jackets forward prospects, Michigan's Gavin Brindley and Wisconsin's William Whitelaw, were selected for USA Hockey's preliminary roster for the 2024 World Juniors, which takes place from Dec. 26-Jan. 5 in Gothenburg, Sweden. The Blue Jackets selected Brindley and Whitelaw with the 34th and 66th overall picks in the 2023 Draft, respectively.

The preliminary roster includes 16 forwards, 10 defensemen, and three goalies, as the Americans look to improve on their Bronze medal finish in 2023.
Only nine players in D-1 hockey have scored more goals this season than Brindley, who has posted 10-8--18 in 18 games in his sophomore season for the No. 14 Wolverines.

It's no surprise that Brindley, a member of the 2023 World Junior team, made the roster, but it'll be interesting to see if he and Whitelaw both make the final cut.
