Yegor Chinakhov's Two-Goal Performance Not Enough As Kraken Beat Blue Jackets 4-2 While Adam Fantilli Leaves Game With Lower-Body Injury

Yegor Chinakhov's two-goal performance was overshadowed by Adam Fantilli's early exit due to injury and a three-goal first period by Seattle as the Kraken beat the Blue Jackets 4-1 at Climate Pledge Arena on Sunday.

1st Period

Jordan Eberle opened the scoring at 12:40 on the power play when he deflected Oliver Bjorkstrand's shot past Daniil Tarasov from the slot. 

Jared McCann doubled the Kraken lead at 16:04 with a left-circle wrist shot on a two-on-one rush thanks to a nice feed from Eberle. 

Eberle scored his second power-play goal of the period at 17:58 after finishing a rebound with his backhand at the left doorstep.

After 20 minutes the Kraken led 3-0 and had a 10-8 advantage in shots on goal.

2nd Period

No goals were scored in the second period, but it was a better frame for the Blue Jackets.

Entering the third period, Seattle led Columbus 3-0 on the scoreboard and 18-14 in shots on goal.

3rd Period

Kirill Marchenko had the Blue Jackets' best scoring chance of the game at 4:28 when he hit the post with a slap shot on the power play. 

Yegor Chinakhov scored his 13th goal of the year to put the Jackets on the board at 7:12 with a short-side wrist shot from the left circle. 

Tarasov made a great save on Eeli Tolvanen's backhand breakaway attempt from the blue paint at 7:34.

Chinakhov scored his second of the game at 15:58 after winning a board battle and skating into the slot where he fired a shot past Joey Daccord.

Brandon Tanev iced the game at 19:47 with an empty-net goal from his own blue line. 

With the loss, the Blue Jackets fell to 15-24-10.
